Dear families,

Writing this letter each year allows me to once again reflect on how much we have changed over the years.  I can no longer say:   “we do this for our kids .”  The efforts of our group and the individuals who help, support children at FANA who as you know, may never have a family.    You help birth moms who struggle with a lifelong decision of sacrifice.  You support children’s charities here in WNY.  This is bigger than just us, and I am so proud of your efforts. 

Each year we ask those of you who have a FANA child to reaffirm your membership in our group by making a minimum of a $100.00 donation to Families of FANA.  This donation covers only part of your newsletter and social events which are provided for your family.  We hope that if you can do more you will but more importantly, we want all of you who have a FANA child to know that we need each and every one of you.  Your time and talents are just as important as a financial donation to us!

Our group has changed over the years and is now embarking on a program to help older children become part of a family.  We are working very hard to find families willing to adopt children over the age of 8.  Boys and girls who may be the same ages as the children in your family seek what you already have—a family.  We all have a great deal of gratitude towards FANA for all that has been given to us and this is how we continue to give in the future.  The future of FANA is the legacy of the greatest woman I have ever known.  Mercedes de Martinez always thought of the children who needed her most and now those kids are the ones who are considered unadoptable because they are handicapped or over the age of eight.  Our funds will be used not only to help evaluate those kids for adoption but also to defray costs of bringing them to Buffalo in hopes of finding a family.  We are all grateful for our family and I know we can help other parents and children become a family too. 

This is a group who is so grateful for what we almost didn’t have—a family.  And we owe our boundless joy to FANA.  Please use the "Donation" link above to complete your 2012 write a check donation.   If you wish to give to FANA on a monthly basis, please send in the completed form that was included with the newsletter.
