FANA — NEW PRESCHOOL PROJECT

In 1992, when FANA needed a new building for the orphanage they called upon Families of FANA, WNY, for our support.  Today, that building, our children’s first home, is part of the legacy of this group. This fall FANA is embarking on an exciting new venture and they have again asked us to support them in a substantial way.  The old Yellow School House building cannot house the number of students FANA educates and the constant need to repair it is costing FANA money.  We have been asked to raise the necessary funds to build a new and modern school building in a new location on the grounds at FANA.  While your support for FANA has never wavered and we continually contribute to the daily operations to keep the doors of FANA open, this year we have an opportunity to do something extraordinary.
FANA has requested that we raise $500,000 to build the new school.  The board of Families of FANA, WNY has voted to begin the funding of this project and we are now reaching out to the FANA Family to raise the rest of the money.

This project is scheduled to break ground later this fall.  The drawing above shows you the visual appeal of the new building which will be located to the left of the main building as you exit from the rear towards the FANA grounds.  The new preschool building will be a beautiful three-story building with nine classrooms (three more classrooms than the Yellow School House) giving FANA more capacity to serve children.  These extra classrooms will allow for new programming as FANA will provide a before- and after-school program for children that only attend school half day, as is the case for many of the schools in Suba. This additional programming will help to solve an existing issue for families who need to leave their children unsupervised for long hours. Without a school to offer programming like FANA intends to offer these children, the persistent issues of the surrounding neighborhoods will continue. This is our opportunity to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children and their families.

This project is a great opportunity for us. If you would like to talk about the project in greater detail, I am happy to share more specifics and talk about possible donation opportunities. I am reachable via e-mail at Pfuzak@aol.com or cell phone at 716.863.6421.
